How accessible is a Luminarium?

The luminarium is designed to be physically accessible for wheelchair users  and for people with accessibility needs.

How Inclusive is a Luminarium?

A luminarium gives access to a very broad audience, embracing all ages, all abilities, all cultures and communities.

Do shoes need to be removed?

Yes shoes need to be removed to enter the Luminarium, with the exception of medical footwear for which shoe covers can be provided.

How long is the experience ?

A visit may be limited to 20 minutes in the case of high attendance. If attendance is low visitors may stay longer.

Are pushchairs/strollers allowed inside?

No, pushchairs are to be left outside of the luminarium in the designated prampark

Is there an age limit to enter the luminarium?

The luminarium is designed for all ages. Calmness in the luminarium provides the ideal ambience for all visitors to appreciate the luminarium for its merits. To help maintain calm children need to be accompanied by an adult

What are the rules inside the Luminarium?

We encourage mindfulness of other visitors with whom the space is being shared – the luminarium is intended to be a calm and contemplative experience.

Visitors shall keep to the paths that are in contact with the ground as the plastic is delicate. There are pods where one can sit down or lie back to absorb the ambience.

There is no running, jumping and sliding as this may hurt or damage the luminarium.

Can photographs and videos be made inside the luminarium?

Visitors are welcome to take photos, but shall be mindful of other visitors and their right to privacy.

What will I hear inside the Luminarium?

An immersive ambient soundscape is played throughout the luminarium

What does it feel like to be inside the Luminarium?

Some may say it feels like a worm dream or like walking through a rainbow

How does the Luminarium work with colour?

The luminosity of light and colour inside is created purely by the light shining through the coloured plastic. When open after sunset natural light will be replaced by artificial lighting.
