Terceradix
Terceradix’s name signifies that this is the 30th Luminarium design, conceived and built in the 30th year of Architects of Air. “Tercera-” coming from the Spanish ‘third’ and “-dix” from the French for ‘ten’
The challenge for Terceradix was how to create something as lovely as Timisien while making it smaller and at the same time brighter. To achieve the latter the finials of Timisien were redesigned to a shape that would not only catch more light but would also lend itself to mixing colours of the light that is cast into the dome below. The result is a Luminarium that has a dazzling variety of colour inside.
The first exhibition of Terceradix revealed the need for 2 more domes to be added to make it easier for visitors to find their way out and the Main Dome fell short of what we had hoped to see so that has been substantially reworked.
